Ann used a photo taken by Joy Smith at the 2005 "Home for the Holidays" cat & kitten adoption campaign as a reference for the painting. Joy is the Director of FieldHaven Feline Rescue, a sanctuary, rescue and adoption facility in Lincoln CA. FieldHaven participates in a nationwide annual campaign to find homes for pets during the holiday season. They are supported in this effort by Il Giardino, a garden boutique in Lincoln that supplies window space where a winter wonderland featuring adoptable cats & kittens is created.
