Artistic
Collaboration
Team
effort with Polarity on Etsy
Recently
on Twitter,
an artist posted a link to a locket featuring her art on Etsy (an on-line site for art/crafts).
I took a look and thought my Petzazz style art would be a good fit, so
I contacted the shopkeeper (Polarity) to see if she was interested
in a collaboration. She has collaborated with a number or artists
and agreed to add my art to her collection. She's come up with
a wonderful locket set featuring 3 of my critter
paintings
and
a word
definition.
The locket is made of recycled metal. It's magnetic and the images
and
word definition are interchangeable. Click here to see the locket set in Polarity's shop.
On-line Interview
Thanks
to Twitter
There are many opinions about Twitter, but I happen to like it and have found
it a great way to promote my work and interact with other artists and
interesting people from around the world (see above collaboration!).
Sometimes I do post about
what I had for lunch, but most of the time I post about my latest
art,
something
interesting
I found on the web, a neat quote, things like that.
Being
on Twitter and posting links to my art resulted in an on-line interview
with Paige (aka TheEquinest). Paige e-mailed a list of questions which I answered and she then posted on
her blog. She also included a number of images of my work, and a photo
of me and our border collie Magpie. Click here to read the interview.
Scratchboard
Art
Snow
Leopard and Pinto Filly
I've
just completed a new scratchboard
drawing of a snow leopard. I took the reference photo at the
Sacramento Zoo. This 4" x 4" drawing is framed (5" x 5") and available at the Auburn Old Town Gallery for $125, or you can purchase
it directly from me.
"Snow
Leopard" -
4" x 4" Scratchboard Drawing
I was recently notified that my drawing of
a pinto filly has
been accepted in the 2009 Draft Horse Classic's "Art at the Classic" art show. The Classic (and the art show) runs September 24 - 27. If you love horses,
the Classic is a must see. You can get up close and
personal
with
these gentle
giants. Seeing them all decked out and pulling wagons in
the performance ring is a real treat too.
"Pinto
Filly" -
5" x 6.5" Scratchboard Drawing
Original
art. Reproductions on note cards, prints, magnets & earrings.
